I went to a Cal Poly baseball game on a whim this past Saturday with the intent of taking some pictures. I'm not really a baseball fan; I really wanted to take some candids with my Tamron 300mm f/5.6 and Minolta X-570. So I went and shot a roll and a half of film (the half was color, the full roll was black and white). Most of the shots ended up being of kids as they were the most interesting to me. I got them processed at Longs and put onto a cd. Went through them today and decided that these were some of the best. Hope you enjoy them!

This is a heavy crop from the original (I was WAY too far away to fill the frame). I like the emotion and end energy in this photo. You've got the boy on the left crying, the girl in the middle pleasantly smiling, and the girl on the right running around playing duck duck goose (at least i think thats what it was =)). It looks as if I got caught!

by *weezintrumpeteer The range of emotions are great. I love this moment. This guy knows how to make amazing photos with rangefinders! (Suggested by ^Gonzale and Featured by `cweeks)

What a lovely slice of humanity. I like the range of emotions: the girl's joy, the boy's petulance, and the mothers happy acceptance.

I'm enjoying your people shots. Well done.

There are very few spontaneous photographs that manage to capture the energy of a character. What happens when people go out, and without any external direction towards the subjects, they get some very bland poses. It's not in the extremes of their movement, but in between, where it's boring, where the weight of the character cannot be determined, nor can their method of movement be seen as well.

Then look at this photograph. It's a spontaneous shot, but it's acquired in a way where the motion of that girl really breaks through. Let's just not end there. I said before it's difficult to do with one character. But three? Now we're talkin' real necessary skills to pull that off. As the DD feature suggests, the emotions and character of all three subjects are well acquired. For being able to pull that off, massive props are owed. Excellent work.

You have to love those moments where time stops and you capture something that no one else could ever see with out your eyes. The boy screaming is the perfect thing to set this all of balance and it works in so many ways. I adore this imensely.
